Neil Patrick Harris and longtime partner David Burtka are planning to tie the knot now that New York has legalized gay marriage!

“David and I did propose to each other, but over five years ago! We’ve been wearing engagement rings for ages, waiting for an available date,” the 38-year-old How I Met Your Mother star tweeted on Saturday (June 25).

The day before, Neil wrote he’d “sure love to get married. Please, NY Senate, vote in favor of marriage equality today. My family would really appreciate it.”

After the passage of NY’s gay marriage bill, an excited NPH tweeted, “It PASSED! Marriage equality in NY!! Yes!! Progress!! Thank you everyone who worked so hard on this!! A historic night!”

Neil Patrick Harris and longtime love David Burtka take their adorable 8-month-old twins, Harper and Gideon, out for a Father’s Day dinner on Sunday (June 19) in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

The How I Met Your Mother actor, who celebrated his 38th birthday last week, had quite a party thanks to David!

“My b’day was unreal. D created a surprise ‘murder mystery’ with 25 close friends in character. I was the detective and had to solve crimes!” Neil wrote on his Twitter account, adding, “Then, in the backyard, he hired a group of acrobats to do this epic Cirque-like show in/around the pool. Neil Patrick Harris Shares Photo of Twins

David Burtka holds on to his adorable little ones, Harper and Gideon, in this new shot that his longtime partner, Neil Patrick Harris, posted on Twitter.

“Relaxing on a Sunday afternoon. My heart is full of love,” NPH tweeted with a family photo.

Harper and Gideon are six months old and were born with the help of a surrogate mother.

NPH is back in town after performing in Company in New York City with Christina Hendricks and Stephen Colbert.

Neil Patrick Harris and longtime love David Burtka arrive at LAX airport on Sunday (February 27) for a flight out of town.

NPH, 37, and David, 35, brought their adorable 4-month-old twins, Harper and Gideon, along for the flight! How beautiful are the babies??

Neil made a surprise appearance at last year’s Academy Awards, and he shared that it was nice to watch the show from home!

Neil Patrick Harris and partner David Burtka go for an early morning stroll with their two dogs on Saturday (October 16) in Studio City, Calif.

The How I Met Your Mother star, 37, announced the couple became parents to twins earlier this week.

Neil and David welcomed Gideon and Harper with the help of a surrogate.

Neil’s busy schedule will soon include more than just diaper duty. He’s directing his first feature film, Aaron and Sarah, with Emma Roberts and Josh Hutcherson.

Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka Welcome Twins!

Neil Patrick Harris is a dad!

The 37-year-old How I Met Your Mother star and partner David Burtka, 35, welcomed a baby boy and girl on Tuesday (October 12).

“Gideon Scott and Harper Grace entered the Burtka-Harris fold. All of us are happy, healthy, tired, and a little pukey,” Neil wrote on his Twitter page.

The babies were reportedly born with the help of a surrogate.

Congrats to the proud parents!!!
