Maria Shriver Files for Divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger

Maria Shriver has officially filed for divorce from her estranged husband Arnold Schwarzengger, according to TMZ.

The 55-year-old journalist cited “irreconcilable differences” as her reason for ending the marriage after 25 years.

There is no prenup agreement between the two and Maria is asking for spousal support and also wants the judge to deny Arnold the right to ask for support. She is asking Arnold to pay both of their attorney fees, as well.

Maria is also asking for joint custody of their minor children, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13.

Several other celebrity divorces were recently finalized. Arnold Schwarzenegger & Patrick: Father-Son Time

Patrick, 17, has reportedly moved out of his family’s home and is living in an apartment closer to his school - his new place is still in the same town as his family’s home, though.

Arnold, the 63-year-old former Governor of California, revealed last month that he fathered a child with a housekeeper.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and wife Maria Shriver have split after 25 years of marriage.

“This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us. After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship,” the couple said in a statement to the L.A. Times.

“We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the center of both of our lives. We consider this a private matter and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment. We ask for compassion and respect from the media and the public,” they added.
